Back on April 13 we had a post headlined "What If the Rich Leave," noting an article reporting that "500 American citizens and green card holders in the last quarter of 2009 said goodbye to America forever. Not many, but double the number of expatriations in all of 2008." Now the New York Times follows up with a report on the trend, headlined, "More American Expatriates Give Up Citizenship." The Times report indicates it is driven by taxes, though tax laws did not change that much from 2008 to 2009. by Editor | Apr 25, 2010 at 10:29 pm Related Topics: Press, Taxes receive the latest by email: subscribe to the free futureofcapitalism.com mailing list Reader comments on this item
