The New York Times has a good editorial about how the government should not be allowed to go through and look at the contents of your laptop computer hard drive without a warrant or probable cause when you come back into the country from a trip abroad. The New York Sun's Josh Gerstein covered this issue back in June 2008. It's the Obama administration now carrying out the searches, not the Bush administration that was doing it when Mr. Gerstein first started covering the issue. But on this one, at least in Congress, it's the Democrats leading the effort against the expansion of government power against the individual. by Ira Stoll | Nov 16, 2010 at 8:47 am Related Topics: Politics, President Obama receive the latest by email: subscribe to the free futureofcapitalism.com mailing list Comment on this item |
