The Cato Institute's Daniel Mitchell deconstructs Senator Schumer's fiscal history: "Schumer said, "…Republicans came in and said, 'We can solve your problem by shrinking government'…We tried their theory."

Says Mr. Mitchell, "What's remarkable about this statement is that it's so inaccurate that we can't even decipher what he means. I've come up with three possible interpretations of what he might have been trying to say, and they're all wrong."
