Pledge to America

Reader comment on: A Pledge To America

Do Republicans really expect voters to read this waaaaay too long promise that they absolutely positively will not behave as they did when they controlled all the levers of government? And what kind of credibility do their legislative promises have when Obama can use his veto pen on them? The Republican spending spree and dismemberment of the regulatory agencies that were supposed to watch Wall Street set the stage for Obama and his even more destructive agenda that this 'pledge' now proposes to undo. I think the best we can expect, and it might actually be a good thing, is a sort of standoff-gridlock where neither side can do much more damage.
