The Republicans wanted to reform healthcare as well, just not in the same way. This is ironic of course because the plan Obama passed was not unlike Republican Mitt Romney's plan, or the plan the Republicans proposed as an alternative to Hillarycare. The Republican Party has become so consumed by ideology that it is unable to see straight. Always cut taxes no matter what!!! Although I hope the Democrats win, I will be less upset knowing that the house Republicans will finally have to take a little responsibility - will they cut taxes and blow up the debt? Will they cut taxes and actually make cuts in spending (for which they will pay a political price)? They are getting elected based on a down economy, not anything having to do with who they are. Surely they will forget that by January, but this will only allow Obama to cruise to reelection over what will surely be a fringe Republican nominee.

I actually think the public is at the stage where spending cuts are a political plus.
