"You could say America has more debt to pay off now than it did then, but on the other hand, we had a Cold War military buildup to pay for then, which we don't now." We spend more NOW on military alone (with our 2.5 wars) than we ever spent in the Cold War. About three times as much. Check your facts.

We are the 5th lowest country in terms of corporate revenue collection from taxes. Again check your facts if you think taxes are actually harming corporate growth.

Yeah, I'm saying the military spending now is not as necessary now as it was then, because the Islamofascists, while they are bad news, aren't as big a threat as the Soviet Union was.
