Wow, so the whole worldwide economic malaise is somehow a byproduct of our foreign policy? That's an extreme stretch, and ignores the ripples from our housing crisis, the credit crunch, the near bankruptcy and financial instability of EU countries, continued high oil prices, our soaring debt to GDP ratio and rapidly rising food prices, etc etc.

Do you really think that reduced trade with Afghanistan due to our military involvement there is severely restricting global trade, or even our own? Think again. Going all pre-9/11 isn't going to jump start trade, and allowing Al-Qaeda back on their feet to hold us and Europe hostage will do more to hurt world economies than help.
