DisagreeReader comment on: Obama and Billy Tauzin Submitted by anon (United States), Nov 29, 2011 17:50 A tax on employees who engage in free market and arms length negotiations? Bah humbug. Whether Tauzin had government service or gained knowledge from somewhere else, the real issue is the gut reaction that someone shouldn't earn so much for that type of job. There is no revulsion when Paulson et al earn that much for producing nothing beneficial to society other than wealth generally, but Tauzin had knowledge no different than than a highly trained person does in the marketplace and earned the fee he negotiated. But if you want to engage in policy by taxation, I'd first eliminate the corporate welfare provisions. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
