I suspect the result of this regulation will be more dead children. I happen to have a car w/ one of these cameras. From my own personal experience, I'll admit having fallen out of the habit of obsessively locating everything/everyone around the vehicle before backing up. Now I just look at the screen and ensure I'm not about to run into anything. The cameras are more convenient, but they probably don't make people better drivers.
