Romney hardly inspires. Propping up failing institutions is misguided on several levels. It sends a clear message to the markets that if you are big enough taxpayers will backstop your losses. An opportunity to increase baseline spending is easily afforded when emergency measures such as this are implemented. This is precisely what transpired in the first few years of the Obama administration, as a legacy of this intervention (unsustainable deficits) threatens our future with even more dire consequences. Venture down the rabbit hole of political economies at your own peril. Should your sentiments change you'll find it almost impossible to extricate yourself, witness the "conservative" Romney supporting the concept of Medicare. FIve more years of Obama and his health care initiative will be codified in stone and the discussion will shift to single payer, a sad state of affairs. Does anyone ever stop to wonder why the USA is the preeminent destination for medical care and how we must preserve and protect the environment that fosters this innovation?
