I remember some years back the Times running an editorial decrying "corporate welfare", only to turn to the Business Section, in the same issue the same day, to see the Times reporting that it had secured a $29 million tax break from the City of New York to subsidize the construction of its new corporate headquarters. Sweet! Sweeter still, that building is now financially "an Alcatraz around its neck" ( as Boston Mayor Tom "Mumbles" Menino would put it).
