As a reader, I prefer the 75 - 100 watt incandescent. Especially as an aging reader. As a builder, I've put in the 13 watt fluorescents and had a hard time convincing the client that the lighting is adequate - let alone required. I practice efficiency and economy as a matter of course but dim lighting makes a poor impression as an attempt at intelligent design.
