for making this decision by the SCOTUS somewhat more palatable. Your comparison to abortion law (made in a previous writing) is apt and makes me able to better understand Justice Roberts' position.

My only point here is that the ruling seems to give power to Congress to pretty much tax anything (not necessarily tangible). That is very scary, given the fact we now have a government that seeks to control many aspects of our lives. Now that they are given healthcare, per se, it will be easy for them to come up with more and more and more "taxes" for "our own good."
