Eventually one will be older or dead those are the two alternatives. Now in one sense as my father observed in the 1960s the young are able to avoid having to pay directly for as much care for the old (i.e. their parents) since care is otherwise provided for (he was speaking of SS and medicare here). But it is a fact that a young person will be an older person sooner or later.

Secondly of course older folks vote more than younger folks since we have not gone to national vote by mail ala Oregon, which eliminates the excuse about making time to go vote.
