Until the PAC of CVS starts using the "safety" argumentReader comment on: Amazon Pharmacy Submitted by Joe M (Belgium), Oct 9, 2017 12:11 From my interaction, GoodRX doesn't actually do anything but catalog publicly available discounts and poll prices. I don't think they actually do any other work than that, but I'm still happy it exists. I feel, but do not know, that much of the mess of prescription is due to differing state regulations in addition to insurance company rules. Amazon, unless they become an insurer, will still be subject to one of those categories of restrictions. Example: 10 days left on Rx for {insert uninteresting drug with no street value here}. Leaving country for three weeks with approx 8 days left on scrip (ie, Today is Monday, leaving on Wednesday, prescription eligible for refill on Saturday). Not permitted more than 5 additional pills ahead of schedule, so .... ? The CVS mail order system is a disaster for many reasons, but I honestly don't think Amazon will be permitted to "fix" what is wrong. The stuff that is refrigerated that my kids need from time to time has almost zero profit margin. And none of this fixes the fact that my provider attempted to charge me almost $700 for what I read as the equivalent of a teaspoon of generic tylenol for my kids surgery. Wholesale price was about $40 for the dose when I checked. And of course, I was not warned or given the option to let my kid drink the grape stuff an hour before surgery at a cost of about $0.07. If Amazon has a fix, I'm all ears. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. Other reader comments on this item
