Some hotels, e.g., the Atlantis in the Bahamas, understates the cost of a stay by not disclosing a $40 PER DAY "electricity charge." Perhaps people wouldn't stay there if they knew about this charge in advance.

This happened to me several years ago. I don't know if the Atlantis still does this.

Needless to say, I never went back to the Bahamas, although I had vacationed there many times previously.

This "fee" was made known to me only at checkout time, when I needed to get to the airport to make a plane ride to the US.
