Government Pay Is Higher

The head of the public housing authority in Chelsea, Mass., was being paid "$334,642 a year, plus an additional amount equal to four weeks of unused vacation, $25,741 for this year," the Boston Globe reports. Philadelphia Housing Authority executive Carl Green's base salary was $306,376, the Globe article says.

Even Boston's Democratic governor, Deval Patrick, said the salary of the Chelsea guy was outrageous.
