It seems to me there is a difference between taking a quick peek at the phone to see if there are any urgent emails while driving, on one hand, and actually typing a message, on the other hand."

No. You're wrong. Maybe *you* have no problem with it, but every time I have a near miss collision, its because the idiot was talking on the phone or texting. If I was also doing that, I'd be dead by now.

And beware. If you wreck into me and I see you were on the cell phone, I'll put you in a hospital bed for the rest of your life. Where you can text all you want.
