Unfortunately, this is not quite the case. The Times shows their "decided lack of skepticism" only when the story fits the an anti-Trump / anti-conservative narrative. If a story does not fit those narratives, it is written in a manner to display extreme skepticism. As recent history shows, editors allow stories that do not fit this guide at their peril.

I remember when the Times was a real investigative newspaper. I remember the Pentagon Papers. I remember when a subject's political persuasion didn't carry any weight when the story was written.

Today, the Times has modified it's motto from "The paper of record" to "The paper that records the liberal/socialist cause." I continue to mourn the death of the old Gray Lady.
