If we all started from zero

Reader comment on: Income Inequality

If we all started with the same amount of money, the same color skin, the same gender, the same access to the same schools etc. then I would agree with Mankiw. Of course we don't. Crediting those who produce goods and services that others value as 100% responsible for their success is just as ridiculous as blaming a foster child who was abused all his childhood, bounced from school to school and ends up homeless as being a failure solely because of his own personal shortcomings. Have a heart.
