ThinkingReader comment on: Tweet of the Day Submitted by Arthur Clarke (United States), Dec 11, 2023 20:25 A few days before he flew to Stockholm to receive the Nobel Prize I drove Milton Friedman up to Milwaukee to speak. (His topic? The importance of the Golden Rule for preservation of free choice.) The next speaker at the Wisconsin Forum was announced to be Tom Sowell. Milton was proud to note that Sowell was a PhD graduate of Chicago. This past summer I read Applied Economics—Thinking Beyond Stage One. Sowell learned to think beyond stage one from his Harvard professor. Sowell is a writer who will prompt an attentive reader to think. What better could one wish from an author?
