Hmmm.Reader comment on: Weather and Jobs Submitted by ben (United States), Feb 4, 2011 15:01 Are you generalizing in saying Canada's weather is worse, or are you arguing it was worse last month? If Canada had an unseasonably warm month, which they did, then one might guess their jobs performance to be better than expected, which it was. If the US had a particularly bad month, which it did, one would expect the number to be worse. What matters is not the absolute temperature between the two places - yes Canada is colder - but what the weather is like relative to what is typical. Otherwise, we could assume that temperate areas would always outperform cold areas in job creation, which of course makes no sense.
