Exactly my pointReader comment on: Cellphone While Driving Ban Submitted by ben (United States), Dec 14, 2011 16:44 So you do agree that drunk driving is ok so long as you aren't swerving in and out of lanes. This shows that so many libertarian positions taken in their extreme (a place we often go on this site) become ridiculous. I suppose nobody ever kills anyone the first time they drive drunk (which there would clearly be a lot more of if it were legalized). Also, I would guess that in this libertarian utopia the cops always notice the drivers who drive erratically and take the steps to arrest them or take away their licenses. I guess people don't even need driver's licenses either, so long as they obey the rules of the road. And why not let 8 year old drive, so long as they obey the rules of the road. In such a libertarian utopia, I would never get in a car. Perhaps an Abrams tank which I could drive through central park! Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. The Future of Capitalism replies: I would let the insurance companies charge the 8-year-olds higher premiums. Submit a comment on this article Other reader comments on this item
