What this book seems to argue is that ultimately the poison that is killing the economy in America and elsewhere is the near total abandonment of the principles of free market capitalism and their replacement with a terribly confusing mixed economic order, a kind of blend of socialism, welfare statism, crony capitalism, fascism, and anarchism. The rule of law cannot function in such a "system." And when things go wrong, it is impossible to trace who and what is responsible--like trying to trace who or what produces food poisoning after eating smorgasbord on a Swedish ferry boat.
