Reader comment on: The Catholic School Crash

Submitted by SW Jenks (United States), Mar 14, 2013 17:19

The decline in Catholic enrollment corelates almost exactly with the increase in charter schools. It is unfortunate that the much higher cost of charter schools vs. catholic schools is not recognized by most people. There is a wide range in the quality of charter schools; some including some of those that attract the most additional outside money, perform below the level of catholic schools. Charter and of course public schools do not provide the moral education of faith-based schools. Vouchers would be a far better solution to the public school mess.
