Politico's Mike Allen notices a last-minute Democratic National Committee commercial airing on MSNBC and BET and featuring president Obama. On screen type: "If Republicans win: No Accountability for Wall Street. More Power for Oil and Insurance Giants."
Well, at least it's out in the open: Anyone who works in the financial, energy, or insurance industry should know that the Democrats and the president are running against them. So much for the president's April 22, 2010, remarks at Cooper Union, "Ultimately, there is no dividing line between Main Street and Wall Street. We will rise or we will fall together as one nation." At least until the president finds it politically convenient to demonize Wall Street.
