The Palm Beach Post reports that Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty was in Florida and "called for ending cost-of-living increases for wealthy retirees." So if Mr. Pawlenty is the Republican nominee, the choice will be between President Obama, who wants to raise income taxes on the rich, and Mr. Pawlenty, who wants to cut the value of their Social Security benefits. Some choice. Is it too much to ask for a candidate in the race who wants to treat all Americans the same regardless of how much money they make, or who tries to unite the country rather than finding one group to soak for the benefit of everyone else?
