When even the Gawker web site, normally devoted to gossip, celebrity news, and related snarkiness, goes on a rant against New York's rent control laws worthy of Milton Friedman or the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research (well, almost, if you subtract the banker-bashing from the Gawker post), it's something to behold. You'd think maybe that the issue might get some critical attention in New York City's ongoing mayoral campaign, but not yet so far.
