Todd Newman, who successfully pursued an appeal that overturned his criminal securities fraud prosecution brought by Preet Bharara under a novel theory of "insider trading," is the subject of a long interview/account in the September 1 issue of Fortune. It is very much worth a look for anyone concerned, as I am and as were the judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals who overturned this conviction, about the overreach by the U.S. attorney by the Southern District of New York on this front.
