Massachusetts and Rhode Island have succumbed to what they describe as as a federal "requirement" for "national uniformity" when it comes to mileage-based exit numbers rather than sequential ones. New Hampshire's governor, Chris Sununu, on the other hand, is promising, "we are going to fight it the whole way."
