Attitude of OwnershipReader comment on: How Walmart Motivates Workers Submitted by James (United States), Jul 29, 2018 22:58 I worked at one of their competitors for a while, as a cashier. I'd always help people who stopped me on my way to breaks, and treated everyone as politely as I could, regardless of how I felt. When one of my coworkers asked me why, I told them "We are the face of the company. We are the only employee most of these people see when they come in here. How we act is how the company acts. What we do is what they remember." It was a crap summer job in college, but still, I was an employee there, and it really bothered me that others--including long-time members--didn't take that view.
