It seems no matter if you are on the right or left the media predict the end of the world. It appears that's what gets them their eyeballs for ads which of course is the only reason they exist. Every so often it would be nice to have a story on how far we have come in the last 110 years or 50 years or so. People forget that nowadays the blow all humanity back to the stone age issue of the 1950-1990 period is more or less off the table. (Far less likely) I recall at times in the eighties thinking that lighting was really the bomb going off. Having heard predictions of the end of the world since I got to college in 1968, I now have reached the attitude of eat drink and be merry because you can't do a damn thing about it.
