Perhaps one should look at the stock market performance under Republican and Democratic administrations. This has actually been done http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/columnist/krantz/2005-12-02-presidents_x.htm. But just as this is most likely a flawed analysis because it may reverse cause and effect, so too is the "wealth destruction monitor" similarly flawed. The real problem with our current situation is less about the filibuster, and more about the fact that the Senate is an exceedingly unfair body, where a Wyoming resident has 70 times more say in our senate than a someone from California.
