A simple metric to use.Reader comment on: Eisman's Next Move Submitted by Lyle (United States), Jun 22, 2010 09:26 What are the completion rates of these schools after 5 years? That's a metric to use to decide which schools to cut. Also schools that push folks into areas that are way overstaffed already need to be reduced, their counselors/salespeople need to give folks an honest view of the job market in the field in question. (Applies both to non profit and for profit schools, you notice that much of the humanities are not offered by for profit schools, since there is no demand for these areas. ) Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. The Future of Capitalism replies: Who decides what is "way overstaffed"? In most cases students decide their majors on their own, I think, but I could be wrong. Comment on this item |
