Reader comment on: Lawyers and 'Public Service'

Based upon the old meme public service took financial sacrifice and working in a major law firm (which structuring companies is usually done in ) does not represent financial sacrifice. Of course it represents life sacrifice as you better act like you are married to the company or you get thrown out. In the old days of course working for the government meant sacrifice, and for some lawyers today a federal judgeship is likely a financial sacrifice. Of course a job for life is worth a good bit. For many in government the financial sacrifice business is much less than 50 years ago.
