Brooks has an opinion, you say?Reader comment on: A 50% Tax Rate on the 'Rich' Submitted by Ranald Hay (United States), Oct 16, 2009 17:01 No sir, with respect, I shall not do it. I will not visit a NY Times webpage. I cancelled my NYT subscription years ago in favor of the then newly revived New York Sun. I argued then that the reason the Sulzbergers refused a "comics section" was because they had both the front page and the Op-Eds loaded with buffoons. The more recent arrival of Brooks hasn't changed a thing, including my avoidance of the NY Times. It has been sad, in a way, to see the demise of a once proud banner - the New York Times - perhaps the most honored Brand in America. It has been damaged to the point where even the National Enquirer is a more trusted source. Brooks has an opinion? Let me guess: "National Greatness - and other faux-Conservative ideals that can win again!" I apologise, Mr. Stoll, for the rancour. I am reminded of the damage the Sulzbergers have wrought on American culture, and I am reminded that ignoring them will only hasten their well-deserved departure from media. I am reminded as well how much I miss the New York Sun. Ranald Hay Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. Comment on this item |
