I am your king

Reader comment on: More on Robertson, Rubin, and the Estate Tax

Submitted by kenneth waldron (United States), Sep 3, 2010 21:35

Rubin and Robertson's attitude can best be summed up by the following statement. " I am your king; bring me your gold." The fact that such statist policies are even debated in America speaks volumes about the beliefs of a growing number of Americans. They can no longer see that liberty cannot exist apart from property rights, including the wealthiest among us. They naively believe that the Rubins and the Robertsons of the world are at worst misguided but well intended. It is not the case. They are would-be oligarchs who would be fairly treated by old fashioned tar and feathers.
