Another possible explanation for Rattner's book is that he is expecting the NYS AG Cuomo to come down hard on him as a result of Rattner's participating in the NYSCRF pay-2-play scandal. He can use the ruckus raised over his book as a reason for any retribution. Rattner and people like him are chess players, not simply players.
