Index investors really have said you cant reliably beat the market

The idea is that you can't beat the market and why pay the tools to the wall street firms who try. Index funds, sp&500 or total market are low cost ways to try to stay even with the market. Every other investment type except the Madoff type beats some years and loses some years. Madoff beats until it busts. Index investing says you can't get rich on wall street and paying tools to wall street does not help the picture
