Doubting climage change is approaching doubting evolution or gravityReader comment on: Tea Party and Climate Change Submitted by ben (United States), Oct 21, 2010 14:07 My grandfather who is a physicist tells a joke that one of his professors, when he would drop something during class would always look up as the object fell. His explanation - gravity is just a theory and if it ceases to exist in that moment he wants to observe it. Of course, this is a cute way of playing on what non-scientists think of the word "theory." Global warming is happening. Our actions are making it more pronounced. Whether we account for all or just some of the warming of the planet, there is no doubt we contribute to it. To stop it (or slow it at least) we must make people pay for their actions so that their behavior changes. This revenue can go right back into people's pockets in some other form. Doubting climate change is a convenient way to maintain ones lifestyle at the expense of future generations. It is gutless and selfish.
