Murray is too kind. He does not mention that many Elites, especially those on the left, have little sympathy for democracy when it gets in the way of their many passions, including global warming, 'comprehensive' immigration reform (i.e. amnesty), 'new urbanization', single-payer healthcare, higher taxes, gun control, 'food police' and many more. When it comes to getting what they want, they won't let the clearly expressed decisions of the populace get in their way.
