Ideology run amokReader comment on: David Brooks's Latest Submitted by ben (United States), Oct 29, 2010 15:29 As an avowed liberal, I couldn't agree more that not all infrastructure plans are worth the money (bridge to nowhere) but for many conservatives, their ideological blinders are so thick right now they have forgotten that even small government conservatives believe that government has a role to play in people's lives. The "Tunnel to somewhere" being a perfect example. Governor Christie torpedoed a necessary and important infrastructure project to save money. It of course will save money, just like not building the Brooklyn Bridge would have saved money, or not building the transcontinental railroad would have saved money. At some point, the conservatives will come back to earth and realize that government actually has a role to play. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
