My understanding is that Op-Ed columns do not have to reflect the views of a newspaper owner. So that fact that Ken Frydman thinks having a home in the Hamptons or Palm Beach is a negative doesn't mean that the NY Times owners agree. In fact, the column appearing in the Times doesn't mean that Frydman isn't critical of all the Sulzbergers living in the Hamptons & Palm Beach.
