While I understand the sentiment, and in the last century I would have agreed with it, Facebook is not just any company. Its actions (or lack thereof) have incredibly important consequences for the country, and society in general. They are already enough of a monopoly that I think they should be broken up, and the lack of respect for individuals' privacy and inability to quell the use of their network for spreading of disinformation is an indication that they would be a poor choice to administrate a cryptocurrency. Let others do it.
