One big reason for rising meat prices is the ethanol boondoggle, where corn that would be used for cattle feed and other food-related uses is now mixed as ethanol into gasoline. It is simply mindboggling that the two primary 'environmentally friendly' approaches pushed by politicians for automobiles are ethanol and electric vehicles, both of which, net net, are less efficient and more environmentally destructive than gasoline.
