I hate it when smart businesspeople like Bezos act like cronies. Whether it was his effort to extract a pile of cash from localities like Virginia and Long Island City, or whether it is advocacy for deadly minimum wage laws, these are malicious acts by businesses. Mr. Bezos also started advocating paying sales tax across the board, when his business started to tip towards paying in a lot of venues, rather than mostly being exempt. It was another case of his two-faced approach. As smart as he is, he doesn't get the philosophical issue of staying true to free markets.
