Legislatures cannot repeal laws of economics

If a legislature tried to repeal the law of gravity, people would rightly say it was crazy. But when that same legislature tries to repeal laws of economics, it often gets support from the same people who would label it crazy to repeal the laws of physics. Politicians typically don't understand economics any better than they understand physics, but nonetheless believe that they can repeal one and not the other.
