Reader comment on: Is Taking Credit Cards Online Racist?

Submitted by Oliver Mackson (United States), Dec 1, 2020 17:41

I've been a member of the NYRR for more than 25 years, and I find the credit cards-only policy annoying. I'd find it downright exclusionary if my income forced me to limit my credit card use to emergencies or essential purchases. Running prides itself on being an egalitarian sport that requires little more than a decent pair of shoes and some lightweight clothing to participate. If you're going to be the New York Road Runners club, you should have consideration for less-fortunate New Yorkers, many of whom are not White. Your snark is unwarranted.
