This ridiculous idea that Thanksgiving is actually about how free market capitalism triumphed over socialism doesn't even work based on a simple date: 1621. That was the year of what is generally considered "the first thanksgiving" and where we get the entire mythology around the holiday--the pilgrims, the natives, the bounty. So the holiday doesn't, from a core historical perspective, make sense, at all, with what you're talking about.
