Reader comment on: ProPublica Has Tax Info on Thousands More. Will Anyone Sue?

PP contends it's legal to use this purloined info in "a story in the public interest when the news organization did not itself remove the information from the control of the IRS or solicit anyone else to do so — as we did not." That's a touching article of faith.
